Cutie is the older sister to twins Carolyn (holding her) and Apple (sitting on floor.) She has taken care of her younger sisters since they were born. Their mother seemed to be away more than she was home, so Cutie found herself taking on the role of a parent to her younger siblings. After they moved into their new home, their mother didn’t hang around very long before she once more took off without saying where she was going. Each time she left it seemed that she stayed away longer and longer.
Cutie – fortune/pisces
Carolyn – scorpio
Apple – scorpio
The Cherry family received a warm welcome into the neighborhood when a group of neighbors stopped by with a plate full of cookies. Everyone seemed very friendly, and Cutie especially thought a young man by the name of Joe Carr was nice. The two of them seemed to hit it off right at the beginning.
The older woman seemed especially taken with the twins and commented often on how cute they were. She said she had grandchildren of her own but rarely got to see them as they lived in another city.
Eventually the family settled in to their lives. Cutie had enrolled in high school, and a nanny was hired to watch the girls while Cutie was at school. Of course, she still had the responsibility of giving them their baths and getting them ready for bed each night.
Her mornings started bright and early, as Apple was an early riser…and she made sure everyone else was awake as well!
Most of the time Apple and Carolyn got along and played happily. At other times there seemed to be a bit of rivalry (already) between them. Apple was much louder and aggressive than her sister Carolyn…so she usually ended up with the prize.
Cutie wasn’t completely happy with the nanny that she had hired. Often she would come home from school to a house that was a mess…and her sisters still in the pajamas and dirty diapers. She didn’t dare complain, however. She couldn’t afford to hire a nanny from one of the elite agencies. As long as Apple and Carolyn seemed happy and watched, she was not going to complain. She had no other choice….
Apple grew up first into a school aged child. There wasn’t extra money for a birthday cake, so there was no party this year.
Next was Carolyn’s turn to grow up to a school aged child.
Cutie and Joe Carr continued to grow closer and were now best friends. Cutie appreciated all that Joe had done for the family. He visited them often…and even took an interest in the twins.
Carolyn loved playing with the neighborhood dogs. She asked Cutie if they could have a dog of their own. Cutie felt bad, but she had to tell Carolyn no. They just could not afford to feed another mouth right now. Maybe later they could.
Carolyn brought all the strays home…and sometimes allowed them into the house…where they often misbehaved. Cutie told Carolyn to keep them outside, but Carolyn would sometimes “forget” and bring them inside with her.
While Carolyn was more social and loved to play outdoors, Apple seemed to live in a world of her own. She dressed like a fairy most of the time, and painted pictures of princesses.
She loved for Cutie to read her fairy tales of castles, and prince and princesses. Carolyn usually watched tv. She hated reading.
Although times were often lonely for Cutie, she appreciated her friendship with Joe. He helped her often, encouraging her and telling her what a great job she was doing. Cutie was able to talk to him about her family…her mother being away so much…her parent’s divorce when she was a young girl. Her life had been a rough one…and Joe seemed to understand without judging her.
Cutie learned that if something needed to be done….she did it. If she didn’t know how…she learned. She had no other choice.
Was it always easy….not at all. But Cutie always put on a good face for her sisters. If she got discouraged she would call up her friend Joe and talk…or she would take a walk outside. She never wanted Apple or Carolyn see her cry…but sometimes…it was so hard. She just wanted to be a regular teenager…going out on dates and to dances. Maybe even have an after school job so she could have a little extra spending money for clothes or makeup.
Yes…sometimes it was really hard.
Authors Note – It was kind of difficult to keep things going. Fortunately the house didn’t cost much and there was enough money left to last (so far). They didn’t need the nanny for too long as the toddlers grew up after a few days. As I quit playing this family, Cutie has 9 days until she becomes a YA, and the twins have 5 days until they become teenagers. Apparently there can be no “move in” option for Joe until a YA is in the house?
